My Heart Is Aching
My heart is aching; I don’t know what to do,
I chose to be with her, but I still long for you.
I’m not sure if anyone has ever felt this way,
It just gets harder every single day.
You came into my life at an unexpected time,
Now I can’t get over wishing you were mine.
But there is someone else in my life as well,
And God knows that I’ve put her through hell.
There is a saying, “out with the old, in with the new.”
And if I could do it, that’s what I would do.
But things aren’t that simple; for me at least,
Because no matter what, I’ll still lose sleep.
I wish God would tell me what to do,
For the last thing I want, is hurt either of you.
When I walk outside and look at the sky,
I ask for his help so this moment doesn’t pass me by.
Life is such a crazy a thing that we have to deal with,
Yet, it’s harder than it is crazy, I can promise you this.
But for all life’s hard choices, the reward is great,
I just can’t help but wonder how much longer I can wait.
I know I should be a man and make my decision,
It seems so easy, but really.. It isn’t.
I hope you can see what I am going through,
Essentially it’s all because, I fell in love with you.
After all my thinking, the only thing I am sure of
Is that you are an angel sent from above.
And time is the only thing that will help me figure this out,
But if you choose to leave me, I will recover somehow.
I don’t know what else to say,
Besides you’re the greatest, in every, single way.
I’m sorry for hurting you and making you cry,
But please know if you do leave, it will kill me inside.
