AS DEEP AS IT CAN GO

By: Natasha Cox

As I sit & reminisce about the days we've shared
Deciphering reality from the fantasies that glared
I think maybe your passing was for the good
It wasn't meant for you to be hustling in the hood
Although my feelings amount to nothing
Yours- misunderstood...

But the pain still runs deep
As deep as it can go

I guess I’m growing up, trying to reach my goal
Battling the struggles due to the absence of my soul
Still awaiting you return I’m ready to be whole

But the pain still runs deep
As deep as it can go

Days have gone by, even months, will be years
Still crying over you, how will it be when all the pain clears?
Love makes you selfish, pain makes you grow
Only time will tell, one day I will go
Until that time comes
One thing I’ll always know

The pain still runs deep
As deep as it can go
