Tonight I thought I cried because of what you said,
It wasn't your words, but what was in my head.
My insecurities let me believe things untrue,
They misdirected my attention from the words to you.
At the end you tell me everything is fine,
I wish those emotions were not yours, but mine.
For as I lie here while you're fast asleep,
Into my pillow my salty tears do seep.
The clock is ticking but I'm with open eyes,
As rain comes down and the wind cries.
With my emotions Mother Nature does stir,
With the morning sun I hope she brings a cure.
I know that the love we have surpasses all,
Only with you, out of my shell I will crawl.
When you love someone with all your heart,
Each of their words touches your soul and doesn't part.
