Your Letter

By: Tamika Bardwell

I got your letter yesterday,
To tell me things you did,
Things you've always needed to say,
Things you've always hid.

You told me your feelings changed,
And you didn't want to be with me,
That your new feelings were strange,
But you wanted to see how it would be...

To be without me by your side,
And with someone new,
Wanting deep down to make me cry,
Because you never had one, but two.

You claim you still love me,
You're just not in love.
For a long time you didn't see
What happiness was made of.

You still want to be friends,
Just like old times.
You thought that'd make things easier to end,
Feeding me that bogus line.

You never should've lied.
You never should've hurt me.
I never should've cried.
This isn't how love should be.
