Love's Pain
Do you know the pain you cause?
The way you tear apart my soul?
Do you know tears come to my eyes
Each time you smile from across the hall?
You hurt me each time you say hello,
Hurt me more when you say good-bye,
My heart shatters on the floor,
You make me want to die.
Tears slip out, each time I see your smiling face,
So I turn my head away.
Somehow, you always succeed in stinging me with pain.
You totally make my day.
So what I’m trying to tell you,
As I look up and above.
I admit--I guess I don’t hate you,
