Perfect Crush

many years ago
i saw this boy
he was in my class
he had the perfect face
and the perfect smile
that made my heart beat out of pace

i wanted to talk to him
so i took a deep breath
i was thinking, why would he like me
i'm not popular
and definitely not pretty

so i gave one more look at him
and walked away
but i still kept a secret crush
and thought of him everyday

today it's the first day of school
i've had a feeling that's so cool
when i was walking into one of my classes
i saw that face
and that smile

i had seen my childhood crush again
i knew i needed the courage to talk to him
but before i got the chance to speak
the teacher walked in
i could not concentrate in class
cause my heart was beating so fast
i knew that today i couldn't lose my chance

when the bell rang
i picked up my book
and as i was walking away
the boy gave me this look

i don't know how i felt
just that my heart started to melt
he saw me
out of everybody

the next few months
this boy was talking with me
i couldn't help smiling
when i saw those lips
and wanted them to touch mine
cause he is so fine

now as i get more courage
i know anyday
i will ask you just one question
i will feel so great
if you just say yes

will me and you go on a date?
