LOVE LIES QUIET

By: Dr.Who3

My love lies
quiet and still.
Even the hair is limp;
the strands
passing through my fingers
with no resistance
to lay as they have fallen,
upon love's unmoving skin.
I, marveling that
love could ever
be so singly still,
trace my finger
down the nose
across the cheek,
causing not a twitch
or even blink or smile,
as I remember love's sweet smiles.
As I turn away
not bearing to disturb
this solemn deep repose
How my love stirs her...
