Though Now We're Older

By: Alan Larry Balter

It's been a while, three decades and three
We were still young, sweet Barbie and me
I loved you then when first we met
Though now we're older, I love you yet

In the morning you appear with tousled hair
Another day begins in our love affair
You smile at me and I'm happy then
Though now we're older, I love you again

Each day with you is precious to me
You've given me a life I couldn't foresee
My friend, my lover, and my beautiful wife
Though now we're older, I love you like life

At night we hold each other close
Until sleep comes to us, almost
"Good night sweet boy" you whisper in my ear
Though now we're older, I so love you, Dear
