Princess
Once upon a time
A Princess paced her room,
Her radiance the only light
To cast away the gloom.
She's locked inside a castle
In a land that's far away,
Imprisoned in her tower,
Cries most every day.
She needs someone to rescue her
Free her from the pain,
Banish the Dragon that guards her
Let her live again.
Her hero must be strong
Brave & handsome too,
Ride upon the fastest steed
And have a heart that's true.
He'll know the task before him
Is dangerous & hard,
He must have his wits about him
Be always on his guard.
The ride is long & draining
He'll endure it just for her,
Yet, he knows at journey's end
The Dragon he must stir.
A bloody fight will follow.
He'll surely lose, it seems.
However, she is in his heart
And Master of his dreams.
He'll triumph through adversity
Her Love will be his guide,
He'll climb toward her prison
And slowly walk inside.
The Princess stands before him
Beauty personified,
He'll drop, exhausted, to his knees
Will she be his Bride?
Story time is over
The end is up to me,
For you are my Princess
And i long to set you free.
I may not be a handsome Prince
Nor ride the fastest steed,
But my heart is pure & true
And I'll follow where you lead.
Be my Princess, evermore
My lover & my friend
Then our 'Once upon a time'
Will have its happy end..
