Remnants
Take these hands that cannot hold her
this tongue that cannot speak.
An empty heart now withered and dried
all purpose - that longer seeks.
Take everything once valued
for I want nothing left to possess.
Inside this cold empty shell remains
only sadness now to address.
Take away remnants of last hope
these eyes to use as you will.
Take lips that cannot kiss her sweet mouth
and aching days - which I cannot fill.
Take these ribbons, once earned boldly -
for their colours all now fade.
And a mind from near insanity
held by a silent dream once made.
Take away purple sunsets -
and clear bright azure dawns.
Each one eclipsed by her love;
now lost... and for this I mourn.
