The words that flow so effortlessly
From your tongue
Bound me with anticipation
For our tomorrows

And who could imagine
That collections of words
Combinations of only 26 letters
Could allow me to fall in love
With the person
You've yet to allow
Anyone else
To explore

As if you are an idea for a piece of literature,
I will write you in hopes
That my collections of words
Combinations of only 26 letters
Could allow you to fall in love
With the person you believe me to be
Yet, I am not

Your eyes will open soon
And you will read the words
That are written under tables
And upside down in the notebooks
I've burned to rid myself of
And you will understand
The intensity of my feelings
But only if you can open me up
And read me
Like the book I am

And as if my fingertips
Were created to communicate
Rather than my mouth
I will write you
And I will write me
And I will write us
In collections of words
Combinations of only 26 letters

But I could never express it well enough
Because 26
Is far too few
