Where Were You Lately

By: Silvana Krculic

Do not hesitate, just come.
You are the one to keep me strong.

I tried the travels, and ocean breezes
I took the east route, just to forget.

To retreat to the quiet corners of my soul
Was not easy.
You know I don't like to leave my tomorrows
Undone.

I left, not meaning any harm,
And let the memories of you run rampant.

You were sitting by the water listening for quiet
Echoes,
When only the wind knew my name.

While the distant drums played the vagabond-song
It was you invading my mind.

With every word, and syllable written, I promised
To never leave the verse undone.

If you just tell me: 'Where were you lately?'
I'll come to you running, I am still at home.

September rains can be so sudden, and put things
Into retreat...

Lift the receiver, dial my number, whisper my name.
Don't strain your voice, let it flow freely,

Speak to me clearly... I miss you dearly...
Come with me, let's walk slowly
I need you now.
