Shadow
In everything I do, every place I go,
you are the shadow that eclipses my soul.
When I sleep at night,
you are the moon that shines through my window.
When I awake in the morning,
you are the sun that lights my day.
As gentle breezes caress my skin
I feel your touch upon my body
as if you were lying by my side...
Raindrops upon my cheek
are the tears my soul wants to cry
because we are not together.
For, in everything I do, every breath I take,
you are here with me.
In the shadows of my mind,
in the deep recess of my heart,
you are here with me.
How I long to reach out
and touch your warm skin,
feel your breath upon my cheek
as you hold me close and
whisper my name... with joy.
For, in everything I do, every move I make,
you are here with me,
a shadow in my mind
...that eclipses my heart and soul.
