The Midnight Hour

By: Roberto J. Gonzalez

Woman – my other half
the fruit of my tree,
The enrichment of life -
I grow beside the strength and boldness of thee.
Your eyes tell the tale of heaven, this I know
From the possession of this heavenly sight;
You have given me more than you’ll ever know.

The poet and his muse walk through the night.
Ther unguarded underneath the full moon, not a soul in sight,
Be the lips to my mouth, the sight to my eyes
A beauty far and wide, the gift upon all my senses.
In every shop, every garden, every cemetery,
Flowers shall speak your name.
You’ll live on for all eternity,
Inspiring others just the same.
