Blushing
As pink
as wild roses get
As pure
as the sun setting
over the horizon
As harsh as
loud words
As obvious
as black and white
I am blushing,
all because of thee
And the words you say
that warm my soul
and wipe away my tears
I cannot help
but blush
and I like it
for I am blooming
and it is not my season
I am ripe
when I should be dying off
I feel like a rose
when, really, I am a weed
All because of thee
and the way you look
at me and smile
And make me feel
Distinguished
I smell sweet
When I should
Smell sour
But I like it
Even though
I am not used to it
I can be
If I let myself
and my petals fall
And pray they land
in a straight path
to you
For I am blushing
All because
of thee
