Time To Say Good-bye
Years ago I told you, Love,
I’d never say good-bye;
That I would be, beside you till,
The day that I should die.
I know I said you’ll always have,
A place here in my heart;
Remaining there forevermore,
That we would never part.
Dear, life in all its twist and turns,
Is constantly in change,
Till what we were and where we are,
Has now been... rearranged.
It doesn’t mean my love for you,
Is something in the past.
Nor does it mean what we went through,
Was never meant to last.
It only means the time has come,
(It’s something I must do)
To say good-bye, but will never mean,
My love for you is through.
I meant it when I said you’ll have,
A place here in my heart;
Remaining there forevermore,
Though we are far apart.
I know it’s best, this task I do,
And can’t give reasons why.
I love you still, I always will,
Yet, it’s time to say goodbye.
