A Soft Breeze Across The Desert

By: Gloria Jean Berry

The sun beats down upon me
burned holes in my tranquillity.
Barren were the plains,
lost, stumbling, were my steps.
No stones marked my way,
no quiet voice stilled the pain.
My thoughts ran rampant..
tumbleweeds blown by a hot wind.

Then you came, a cool rain,
a soft breeze across the desert.
Gentle heart of spirit song
Singing to my loneliness.
You tenderly passed through me,
whispered light of peace,
breath of ancient wisdom
to your moon's reflected glow.
