Hatred

By: Charissa Elizabeth Johnson

Within a shattered mirror,
Hatred wandering through every broken piece,
Every step
Screeching
Like nails against a chalkboard
Constantly amplifying,
Getting louder,
Louder,
Until you are ready to go insane.
Sour and musty
Like curdled milk,
Its stench so rancid
You'd rather die than inhale the torturous stench,
Threatening your every movement,
Mocking your mere existence.
Smelling burnt popcorn reminds you of that thing you dread.
Pitch black soul,
Drip,
Drip,
Drip,
Into a pool of nothingness.
Bruises covering every inch of you
From the sharp edged stones hitting you.
Your confusion disappears
Cutting every inch of you
Realization hits you...
There's no point left in life.
SLICE...

you cut your arm open,
a pool of blood beneath your feet.
your past flashing by you in the blink of an eye,
the color of your skin going whiter and whiter.
you breathe your last breath.
goodbye.
