Our Treasure

By: Eurlantae

I gave you a treasure map
To a land of hidden vales
And waterfalls, and buttercups
That lie along its trails.

This treasure map you now possess.
You do not see? 'Tis there!
I tucked it in your pocket
When my soul to you I bared.

That map is such a curious thing,
The paper old and grey,
And yet, the writing clear and fresh
As if penned but yesterday.

Look close, you'll see some older marks
The lines are faint and dim
As if the thing was washed and wrung
And left twisting in the wind.

Should all the world be sent to search
For the treasure so described,
Not one would find a single prize
Though they search the whole world wide

For this treasure map is... to my heart
The prize... our love secured.
Its directions marked with loving care
To ensure our love endures.
