Mandy

By: Michele Marie Bunting

Mandy, when I think of you I remember all the fun things...
the nights we spent rubbing backs and feet,
the times we sang in our brushes like they were mics.
making up dances in the bedroom and putting on shows.

I sit here in a daze and think about the old times.
When you were little, you were my baby,
I carried you every place.
As we grew older... things started to change,
You became a big pain.
Then, older yet, you became my friend.

It is so strange how things change as we grow up.
I can't imagine anything like this happening to you,
I keep hoping it is a dream but I am not waking up.
You and Alice are the closes thing to sisters I have.

Right now the hurt I am feeling
Is as if I lost one of my sisters.
Soon Alice and I will be together,
we will remember all the good things
That only the three of us can share.

I hope we can smile and laugh about it
but for awhile all I can do is cry.
You will always have a very special place in my heart
I love you and will miss you...
