SDC

By: Corbin Isham Rollins

I still remember our first start,
I know that I never wanted to part
With the warmth and security that I felt,
As we walked along the asphalt belt.

I wish we could be together and love,
But you don’t want it as much as I pray to above.
When I look at your picture I think
About how my heart would jump to see you wink.

I hardly ever see you except in my mind,
I love you more than love and life combined.
My heart is breaking like a ceramic doll
Thrown by a cruel sibling against the wall.

I wish together we could happily be,
But a lonely tomorrow is all I can see.
One thing I want to ask is why,
But all I will do is say goodbye.
