Today.. I talked to you
and my heart sang a song.
I don't know what to do,
why is loving you so wrong?

I realize we are kin
but, not that close;
I think of you as more than a friend
so, a problem, this does pose.

If I tell you how I feel,
would you say you care
and make my heart reel?
for, you know nothing else can compare.

I've loved you many years
I put this on hold,
cried many tears
for, my love went untold.

Will my heart be broken
if I speak my mind
or, with soft words, spoken,
will you say you'll be mine?
