I'm Sorry

I’m truly sorry for all the pain I caused
And now I realize- it was simply my fault.

Why couldn’t I see it all before,
That it was the contents of your heart I tore?

I’m really sorry for all my ignorant mistakes,
Though it doesn’t make up for all the trouble I made.

For, as much as I’ve seen, I’ve simply seen too little.
I can’t just apologize and hope this will be settled.

I know it’s not right; I know it’s not fair,
But I want you to know... I really do care.
