Garden Of My Heart
The red petals of love
Spread throughout
The garden of my heart.
Roses in full bloom- the love
For my siblings and my best friend.
A few roses scattered
Among thorns, with ripped petals,
Strangled by the weeds of
Anger and unforgiveness,
Only a handful of love
For my dear parents.
Purple lilacs of compassion
Placed here and there,
Combined with the yellow velvet
Of my insecure sensitivity.
A long and gnarled weed
Weaves in between,
Spraying a lack of trust
On the colourful garden of my heart.
The bright blue bells of honesty
Water the garden with contentment
And give off the desire to be needed.
Dark angels of the past
Seep through and suffocate
With harboured bitterness.
Above, the tinged sun shines,
Giving off strength and forgiveness,
Perseverance and unconditional love,
All needed to drive out the weeds,
So that only flowers survive
...In the garden of my heart.
