Ocean Tides

By: Crystal Lyn Davis

Along the ocean she slowly walks,
Nearing voices that freely talk.
As she passes, they stop and stare,
But she sees them not, standing there.
Intent upon the waves at her feet,
That come ashore to then recede,
She sees all things come and all things go,
Retaining just what she needs to know.
She senses his body at her side,
As tangible as the morning tide.
Moonlight guides them along the shore,
Silence masking their need for more.
He stops her then and takes her hand,
Laying her body in the sand.
Every inch of her body he maps,
As the water about them gently laps.
They make love all through the night,
But she awakes alone at dawn's first light.
