Epilogue

By: Liana K Aloha

I would like to go home now,
the branches are heavy with color-burnt leaves
the wind comes for gathering
and my eyes are taken along,

but here i stand
on the corner with you
catching my tears with pockets full,
looking back to see the way home
that knows me so well

but all i can do
is stand on the corner with you.
As our shadows begin to stretch down the street
my heart expels itself to the wind
catching the wake of the color-burnt leaves,

and here i stand
on the corner with you
far from here, far from home...
