One Burning Flame

By: Alyssa Anne Vitry

His kisses left my soul burning with a fire more than life.
I wanted to hold them all in my heart.
His arms cradled my body with an adoration meant for a goddess...
...but I am just a woman.
His eyes formed a solid wall around my lines to protect me;
Thoughts lying behind them but forever unspoken.
While his fingers weaved in and out of mine
like a blanket to keep me warm;
Like resting upon heaven's clouds,
His body made a bed for me to curl myself into for all eternity.
Our love. Our lust. Our hope.
Our undying devotion to one another wrapped in a ribbon
kept in a chest.
If he was not another body, he would have to be a part of mine.
For magical creations like him would not exsist
without a heart like mine capable of containing him.
Melting my fears, creating dreams.
A man meant for a goddess...
...meant for me. A woman.
Our hearts forever entwined as one burning flame.
