Ode To A Mother

By: Mae B Reyes

A mother hardly ever there,
Young and alone
Needing someone to care.
Little does she know
Into another world I creep
Forgiving her won't be easy,
For eternity I'll weep.

You didn't care
When I needed you most,
No loving arms
Or warm embrace,
Can you imagine the sadness
Upon my face?
Mother, why weren't you there
Throughout my childhood years?

You could have spared us both
The unhappiness and tears.
