Missing You

By: Scarlet Hunter

When the sun rises in the morning sky, I lay in bed
Not ever wanting to open my eyes, or to acknowledge the new day
Knowing you are gone even though not that far away
My heart beating faster at the thought of your touch

I picture your sweet smile and scent of your skin
My eyes teasing my senses, I reach up to touch you, your image disappears
Missing you more and more with each passing breath
I dare not breath again, in fear of losing all self control

My body, my soul welling up with loneliness and emptiness
Await the sound of your voice and the taste of you lips
To catch a glimpse of the one I miss, words could not begin to describe
I stare at your picture, relieving soul but not satisfying my existence

Looking out across the sky, I wonder do you love me like I do you
Are you thinking of me like I am of you, or am I a whistle in the wind
My face all wet with tears, do you reach when I reach for you,
My love is so strong yet even then I struggle to hold on, missing you

What is it that I miss so dear
Is it your touch, your voice, your beauty, or your love
No, it is plain to see it is you and everything about you
My heart being tortured by such a great loss I wait for you to come back

Staring at the wall I see our shadows dancing in harmony
Thanking the sun for returning you to me I glow in ecstasy
The clouds appear ripping you from my heart, turn my tears to stone
Running to the window my eyes all clouded

I say come back I need you I love you I MISS YOU
My life is no life without you
