Reflections Of The Past
I peer into the mirror
And see the face of pain
A face so pale and lifeless
A face so dull and plain
I search within the mirror
Trying to find someone new
Am I blind to see
The reflections of you
The person I find in the mirror
Is the person who is in so much pain
The reflection reveals a loss
And the agony endured each night and day
When I look into that mirror
I see time gone by
Memories of a love
Memories of another time
My lifeless face shows the past
Once blessed with a love so true
But now I see a saddened person
I see reflections of you
The past is dead as is my soul
And I can never get it back again
I could never fix the mistakes we made
I lost a romance and a friend
The reflections I now find with in the mirror
Are a fraud hidden behind a mask
Behind that mask is memories
I see reflections of the past
(I wrote this poem to show that every time I look in the mirror
I see a girl I love but have lost. I see memories of her,
reflections of the past.)
