The Loss
I've tried so hard
To give and give,
To help, to be the loved one.
Then to be thrashed apart,
By the harsh reality
Of what the truth held,
Always thinking of the security,
But in the end losing my innocence,
To never get it back.
To start over,
Pick up what I was deprived,
Of the love I deserve,
What I want
To recieve,
No longer trying,
Holding on for nothing,
Wanting to gain it all back,
Begin over,
Try to retrieve the loss of innocence.
