I Suggest You Do the Same

By: Courtney Elaynea Harrell

My heart will remember hating you,
my mind will remember the pain.
My body will remember the pleasure though,
and my life will never be the same.

You sent me on an emotional trip,
that nearly drove me insane.
You ripped at my heart, stole all my emotion,
but for once I felt the rain.

Driving stakes of ice into my inner wounds,
wounds I won't be able to forget.
And for all my pain and anger,
I only ask for one repaid debt.

Just one thing that I want,
just one thing I insist;
I don't want you to know me,
and I don't want to know you exist.

I am now away from you.
I am now happy with myself.
I have forgotten what you did to me.
I have torn all your picures off my shelf.

I am going on with my life.
I am not placing any blame.
I have forgotten all about us.
I suggest you do the same.
