Two Become One

By: Kathleen M Cassidy

One is the wood, one is the flame,
One is you, the other one me
As the flame meets the wood it ceases to be
The ashes are gone, blown away to the sea
The flame dies away nothing left to be seen
All that is left... the smoke that has become you and me
and the air lifts us up for all the world to see
The smoke we are swirling to the stars forevermore
To be entwined together, as only one for all eternity!
