I saw your chalk white smile disappear,
against the backdrop of a deep blue sky.

I saw a single tear on a soft pink cheek
that fell from a dark brown eye.

I watched as you sat on that hill, so green,
as your sorrow you tried to hide.

I recall how when I turned to go,
you cried... and cried... and cried...
