Me Remembering You.

By: Chuckles

I was sitting here remembering how you looked at me-
With your eyes wide open and your heart carefree.
I looked at you with the deepest part of my heart.
I knew I'd never forget you from the very start.
We shared so many wonderful things, in a short time.
I just knew deep within me, you'd forever be mine.
Everywhere I turn, in my mind I see your face
Because we did so many different things in every little place.
I stand at my front door, and remember you walking up,
All dirty and nasty, because you just got home from work.
You'd walk up and hold your arms out for me.
I'd walk closer because that's where I wanted to be.
I stand in my bedroom, and stare at the bed,
Remembering all the times we laid close and you'd kiss my head.
I look out my back door and see you again.
This time I see you in a few different places.
Remembering last Christmas, when you did your first Santa Claus.
That's one of the funniest memories of all.
We tried hard to put that trampoline together.
We laughed so much that night.
When it was all over, you held me tight.
I wish you were here right now
To look back on all this with me.
But you have these same memories, and I'm sure you still see.
I just wanted you to know you're still deep in my heart
Just like you were at the very start.

This poem is dedicated to Michael Ussery.
I love you and one day, we'll be together again.
