I often wonder what would've been.
What if we never met, what if we never
looked in each others eyes? The first time we talked,
remember the love that I realized?
What if you never called me that night,
when we talked about everything past, present
and future, and I then knew that there was
such thing as love at first sight?
What if we never shared that kiss, so soft, so sweet?
That warm gentle kiss-when we thought we were through
our lips would once again meet.
What if you never held me so close, and told me
that you would never leave me alone? Would you again
whisper in that tone?
What if we didn't part, if you were still here
in my arms holding me close? Filling me with
the love that was once in my heart.
If all this didn't happen, if I never fell
in love with you, I would not have felt
the love that this time was true.
