The Rejected

By: John Murdock

silence fills the room
your light forsaken tomb
without a thing to do

not a friend to share
or a love to care
what would come of you

never in the lead
left alone to bleed
joined by your misery

wish you could take flight
to fly into the night
never to be seen

you look to your dreams
for there it would seem
you are safe from the storms

just a waste of space
wiping a tear off your face
but another tear forms

yearning for a sense of being
but you just aren't seeing
that you can be higher

there is no standard for society
there is no limit to variety
but some aren't any wiser

biting down on your lip
so not even a sound might slip
hoping you are selected

never even looked upon
and the crowd has moved and gone
you belong to the rejected
