What We Can't Have

By: LAura C. Wakefield

Drawn between love,
Separated with distance
That survives only by our touch...

Your hand slips away,
As mine does, too
And that love was forgotten long ago.

Forgotten by mind
Maybe by soul,
But thy heart still feels it grow.

And though we still love,
We cannot have
For we are separated by distance untold.
