A Lover's Soliloquy
How can I be so in love
And yet feel so removed?
It's like living in limbo
I wonder where he is now
I can hear him say my name
He's thinking about me
No, it's just my imagination
Wait! There it is once again
Shivers dance down my spine
As if his hand touched me
It isn't possible, silly me!
Does he love me like he says?
Will it always be so intense?
Dear Lord, how my heart aches
Minutes are hours and days weeks
as separation turns to desperation
Three words frothing in my mind
I--LOVE--YOU!
How many times has he told me?
A hundred, no a million at least
I don't think I believe him
Oh yes! I do, I have to
My mind wanders constantly
Is his hair soft and thick?
Does his skin smell sweet
Like forest moss after rain?
Are his blue eyes as dazzling
As clear summer skies?
When he gives me that smile
I feel weak, shivery, alive
So many crazy things at once
Do I love him, need him
God yes I do, I do!
What's he doing this moment?
He's thinking about me
Yes, he's speaking my name
My heart just told me so
