Missing You
When peace cannot be found
and sleep won't visit me at night,
I sit up in my bed
and think about all the times we shared;
softly kissing each others lips,
and holding one another tight.
With a restless and tortured mind
I walk through my house.
But only a deafening silence
is there to accompany me.
Thoughts of you are always filling my head--
I need you in my arms right now.
I gaze out my window
and wonder if you’re thinking of me.
The many memories you left
constantly remind me
how not so far apart we might be,
but that we hold one another
close in our hearts.
There is nothing I wouldn't do
just to be wrapped safely
in your arms,
but at the moment...
I'm missing you.
