With Grace
With Grace I lay in a passion's drift
Lovely and loved by the saviour, in her tide
At ease like a sailor resting on her salty gails
Comforted by a sea in which my vessel may confide
How many waking nights I have left my thoughts to her
For her wakes embrace my own extinction
But how the stars shine beautiful in her eyes
Their sultry reflections and rolling seductions
This is the sea, spoken of by lovers and poets alike
Its romantic sunsets and dawning days
It is the sea of a womanly heart
Her's are these wonderous currents and crescent waves
I feel like a child at play in her waters
Rocking and swaying throughout the cautious night
It is, and always will be, her touch that warms my soul
For with Grace, I lay and wake in this sea of delight.
