The Choice
I know there's nothing new in a smile
Its been done once in a while
But for me it means a lot more
Than something you just do for someone you adore
It helps me know I’m not alone
In this crazy world we call home
Through every second of every day
I look to your smile to guide my way
Just a simple guy with simple dreams
Of happiness and a house by a stream
But these dreams mean nothing to me
If I can’t have your smile with me
Through bitter tales of sorrow
I know I’ll survive every tommorow
But only if you are there
And in truth you really do care
Of songs and lyrics and tales of rot
Of things to have and to have not
I can’t remember my life before you
I had no life worth living through
I see a colour I’ve never seen before
A shade of passion not known at all
Of kindness and caring I was told of
But something I knew nothing of
Time creates and time destroys
But till that time I have no choice
Given the world or you to choose
I’d take you with no remorse
