Only When...
You only want me when
the sun has drifted off to sleep
and the opalescent moon,
through the clouds does creep.
Or when your loneliness sets in,
it hovers, then descends.
You sense the approaching storm
and quickly make amends.
Or when your time has slowed
to a lethargic pace,
I watch all my anxious minutes
tick across your weary face.
You only want me when
your mercury begins to rise.
Then you kiss me like you care,
but I don't see it in your eyes.
