Empty Spaces

By: Lois Barcomb

Now that you're gone,
I have an empty space.
And everyone can notice,
The expresion on my face.

It hasn't been long,
Just ninety days.
Can't get you off my mind,
I can't forget your ways.

We've had some good times,
We've even had some bad.
I miss you making me happy,
I miss you making me sad.

You stuck up for me,
Even when in doubt,
You even took me fishing,
And said I caught the trout.

You'd ask me for a tool,
And I would go get it.
Even though I was the 'gofor',
I'll never forget it.

DAD, I just can't seem,
To fill that empty space.
And everyone can see it...
The expression on my face.
