To Embrace An Angel

By: Lawrence H Carr

To embrace an Angel is to touch a dream
To have an Angel Love you - an impossible thing
Yet, here we stand our bodies entwined
One heart beating, yours and mine

The Heavens reflecting in your eyes
The sound of your voice can make song birds cry
For even they cannot match your Beauty

I start to tremble when I think of you
If ever you left, what would I do?
Along with your Love my heart you would take
Leaving me stranded in the fiery lake

Doom and dismay would be all I would know
But my Love for you I would never let go
With hope in my heart someday you’d return
This lesson in Love I have painfully learned

The taste of you lips, the warmth of your touch, the smell
of your flowing dark hair
Heaven has sent you to brighten my life
I hope you will always be there

To have and to hold, 'til death do us part
Never could words be more true
Love isn’t worth knowing, Life isn’t worth living
If I cannot do it with you.

I Love You

This Is Dedicated To My Wife
