On The Wings Of Chance

By: Michael James Tomei

The searching owl bellows her sounds of confusion;
The sun decides to bring life to yet another day.
The fingers of the ocean searching everywhere- at the same time
Lightening strikes- another point is made.

The shadow hides itself from the shade it casts;
The moon always appears in a majestic way.
The clouds release a nourishing tear;
All the while nature's creatures sing their song of what is to be.

A golden leaf is carried on the breeze of chance;
A star lit path she follows to thee.
Of all that ever was, is or will be
The most beautiful leaf falls onto thee.

The flower sits in a meadow filled;
A bee finds her petals still.
The stars grace a darkened sky;
One light beckons--a heart becomes alive.

The warmth of day becomes the cold of night;
The trees grow toward an empty sky.
The tide rides the waves of change;
All the pieces fit in an unmistakable way.

To stumble through life- never knowing where to fall
But fall you will to the one that adores.
Carried by the wind of 'forevermore'
To the place we all know as destiny’s door.
