Loneliness

By: Richard Neal Cogburn

I am but a lonely flame
Captured by a candle's wick;

I dance in luminous solitude
Atop a nearby candle stick;

I cast a blush, a golden glow
Upon a table set for two;

And sparkle in your lover's eyes,
The one who ponders over you.
