Desire And Diet Coke

By: Sarah Louise Taylor

I ask you why you never smile
You say it is because of foolish men
Who only remember you for the sex

I wish you knew how I adore you
How my life revolves around the beat of your jilted heart
How I long to linger in the velvet perfume of your breath
And how I float in the sacred breeze of your wisdom

Perhaps you are aware
As you sip your diet coke...
I watch in wistful jealousy
as the cup touches your mouth

How I wish to bathe in those precious drops of sweetness
Sitting on your blushing lips
Oh, and how I fall to my knees at the sound of your laugh

Surround me
Dream of me
Desire me
Free me
For eternity
