Hidden Rose

By: Landon Ray Lewis

Hidden rose that admires me from afar,
If your name to me you’d only render
Then I may look upon you as my star
And to you my heart I may surrender.
I may let my eyes sink in the depth of yours
And let them bring an end to all hostility.
Your silent lips I may let mine explore
While our hearts beat together violently.
But of seeing this day we’ve little chance
Because you’ll remain one rose in the bouquet
If your identity you don’t advance
From your quiet lips to my ears someday.
So to me speak the secrets of your heart
That I may on the journey for it depart.
