Young Love

By: William Scott Ayce

Summer days I do recall
Lost to one another
We were so close, yet, so far away.
In that moment I knew it was love.
You in that suit
With gemstones, pale blue.
Then there was that time
that so and so,
Well you know...
When I almost left;
What a fool I must have been.
A point now made moot.
At my side you've steadfastly stood,
Your love never waning
Over many years.
I sing your praises,
To me your love sustaining.
